About John Blesso
A bit about me: I spent three years in France where I learned how to eat, drink, cook, converse, and generally appreciate a slower, more leisurely existence. In the meantime, I've started a small press, published a book of alternative fiction, ghostwrote a WWII memoir, and have worked as an editor, a nanny, a tutor and a bartender. In 2008, I expanded the Chance beach house into ChanceDinners.com a dinner series for single New Yorkers.
After first coming to Kismet in 2003, I fell in love with its relaxed, tolerant pace, its lack of cars, its wild, green growth and pristine beaches. I knew that Kismet was the perfect place to replicate the cool, epicurean lifestyle I first experienced at Cannes, Monte Carlo and other beach towns on the French Riviera. The French are rock stars when it comes to eating, drinking and...well, you know...and their philosophies in those areas gel nicely with the American ingenuity and can-do-ism of our house.

A modest real estate portfolio has been a sideline for the past ten years, making me something of a slacker with equity. I'm an artistic cross-trainer and a hard-core eater. Also, I recently published Sharehouse Confidential, my behind-the scenes comic memoir of running Chance:
John Blesso really knows how to throw a party. A funny, thought-provoking page turner and a great beach read, Sharehouse Confidential will make you laugh and think on the same page. And if his beach house is half as much fun in real life, I'm heading straight to Kismet--right now!
